Emerald Pools

Whether you decide to hike only the lower (and most popular) section or all the way up through the upper section, Emerald Pools is a Zion mainstay due its easy accessibility and memorable scenery. It’s one of the most scenic stretches of road in the United States, without a doubt. The Par’rus Trail is 1.75 miles long and is extremely popular every year among cyclists. Bring your bike to Zion!

Angel’s Landing

You’ve heard of it. You’re scared of it. Now, it’s time to conquer it! This strenuous, 4-hour hike is one of the most iconic in America and rewards hikers with an epic view you’ll never forget.

Locate Rangers

This is an option that too many people leave off their Zion itinerary. There are tons of programs to join, such as a narrated shuttle tour through the Park. Remember that these programs require reservations in advance, many of which have to be made in person.

Open-Air Tram

Similar to the ranger-led tour mentioned above, this option allows you to cruise Zion Canyon Scenic Drive while inside an open-air tram. Personal headsets for the narration are available on this one as well.

Kolob Canyon

If you prefer to distance yourself from the hustle and bustle of the crowds and want the trail mostly all to yourself, head outside the main canyon to the Zion’s northwest section called Kolob Canyon. Dozens of incredible hikes exist here that don’t get as much foot traffic since they’re not located in the main canyon, not too mention more scenic drives, viewpoints, and famous landmarks such as Kolob Arch. You will not regret this decision.

Bird Watching

Bird watching may not be something that you would ever seriously consider, but you should. You’ll be surprised at how fun and exhilarating it is. Zion houses close to 300 species of birds including hummingbirds, condors, falcons, owls, and many others.
