3 Vacation Spots in Utah That Deserve More Attention

Spring break destination lists almost never include any location in the State of Utah, but in our opinion, that’s everyone’s loss. Utah plays host to five national parks and a slew of state parks. Sure, none of these places include beaches, but it’s time that we expand our getaway options because by not doing so you’re really selling yourself short and missing out on some incredible opportunities. Whether you’re planning on taking a trip with friends, with family, or by yourself, Utah is a fantastic place, particularly if you like your vacations to be full of mind-blowing things to look at. Here are four Utah vacation spots that deserve more attention that are sure to cause Instagram overload and a ton of priceless memories.

Escalante Petrified Forest

This forest is home to trees thousands of years old and are fascinating to see. This place is also very well-known for horseback and ATV riding as well as traditional outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and hiking. And if Escalante isn’t already appealing enough, many people say that the forest is haunted. Who’s coming with us?!

Heber Valley

Without a doubt one of the unsung gems in Utah, Heber Valley is home to the amazing Homestead Crater in which a rock dome surrounds a natural hot spring, creating one of the coolest things you’ve ever seen. Here, you’ll engage in the most unique swimming and scuba diving you may ever do, not to mention all the other things you can do at the resort. Ever heard of paddle yoga? It’s real and it’s awesome. You can also get some fly fishing in, golf, hiking, mountain biking and more. In addition to all of this, Heber Valley is also home to the Heber Valley Zipline and the Heber Valley Railroad, both of which are a great time.

Springdale

Sometimes people come visit Zion National Park and somehow forget altogether that the town they stayed in is called Springdale. This is a very unfortunate occurrence because Springdale is rising fast as a top destination location in the western United States. Situated in one of the most staggeringly gorgeous places on Earth, this town handily holds its own as a phenomenal place to take a trip, even if you took Zion out of the equation (but certainly don’t do that. It’s definitely to best reason to stay in Springdale). A surprisingly fantastic restaurant circuit resides there, as well as numerous high-end resorts and spas, multiple adventure companies with various specialties, and much more. All ages will love this place.

Conclusion

There are so many under-the-radar Utah vacation spots that just don’t have any real reason to be under-the-radar, other than the likely reality that they simply get overshadowed by Zion, Moab, and ski resorts. Perhaps we’ll revisit this topic in a future post so that you can know even more about the incredible places in Utah!
